We are all “More Than” our HIV status (positive or negative) and more than any label that denies our inherent complexity.
We are all individuals with multiple identities, interests, passions, and dreams.
In a new initiative designed to celebrate the diversity of lives, achievements, and dreams of people living with and affected by HIV, GNP+ is launching a dynamic online global campaign.
Every day, people affected by the HIV epidemic continue to experience rejection, exclusion, harassment, and even criminalisation. Entrenched stigma towards people living with HIV, key populations, and their communities, is a constant threat to their lives and wellbeing, and to the goal of ending the epidemic.
From the 1st of March on Zero Discrimination Day, GNP+ together with networks of people living with HIV, partners, and allies will be sharing stories submissions that celebrate individuals in all their diversity.
Campaign content that will be shared includes:
- Videos: short, edited videos that visually illustrate an individual’s multiple identities, successes, and dreams
- Images: photos of individuals describing themselves and their passions
- #Morethan augmented reality filter for Instagram
- #Morethan profile and cover photos for Facebook and Twitter
- #Morethan Zoom background pictures
The #Morethan campaign will be led by the GNP+ as a core partner of the Global Partnership for Action to Eliminate all forms of HIV-related Stigma and Discrimination.
Through providing a platform for people to share their personal stories and encouraging others to share theirs we show the world that we are #Morethan the stereotypes and stigma that others place on us.
