The Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) shares your concern
about the protection of your personal information online. We take your privacy
seriously and are committed to protecting it. We maintain the privacy of your
non-public information using security technologies and adhere to policies that
prevent unauthorized use of your personal information. This policy discusses
the information and the manner in which that information is used to ensure a
smooth and secure experience while connected to www.gnpplus.net and our
affiliated websites, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial
(https://www.candlelightmemorial.org/) and The People Living with HIV Stigma
Index Website (http://www.stigmaindex.org/).
Information We Collect
In general, you can browse the GNP+ site without telling us who you are or
revealing any personal information about yourself. The only information we
gather during general browsing is from standard server logs. These include
your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating
system, and information such as the web site that referred you to us, the files
you download, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.
GNP+ collects the following information about website users: personal
information users voluntarily provide by participating on our website; and
tracking data which is automatically collected (see “cookies” section further
below).
Personal information can be voluntarily collected as follows:
- when making an online donation through our website;
- completing a sign-up form, including subscribing to our newsletter;
- participating in an online petition or advocacy initiative;
- sending website content to a friend;
- leaving online question or comment on a blog or statement
Tracking Data
We also use your information on an aggregated basis to do such things as
operate our website and statistically analyze website usage, including the
behavior of our visitors, to improve the content, layout and upgrade the GNP+,
Stigma Index or International AIDS Candlelight Memorial websites.
Shared Information
As a general rule, we do not disclose identifiable information without your
permission or under special circumstances, such as when a law requires it. If
personally identifiable data about you will ever be shared; we will tell you in
writing, whenever possible, before we transfer the data.

GNP+ collects data through the use of cookies to track website usage. The
main purpose of cookies for many websites are for record-keeping. Cookies
are able to track a user’s activity and store things such as passwords, and
form information previously entered, such as a credit card number or address.

use reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information is not
transferred to third parties unless you are informed beforehand. Additionally,in
the event that your information is transferred to a third party with your consent,
we commit transferring your personal information to third parties who also
maintain at least the standard of protection required under the GDPR.
