Using a smartphone app, Voice+ allows us to communicate instantly with networks and organisations of people living with HIV across the world and them with us. Networks have access to accurate information on HIV – information that is relevant to who they are and where they live. Using the platform, we are also able to gather up to date information from people living with HIV on the challenges they face in accessing health services and protecting their human rights.
Through the app, networks and organisations of people living with HIV can ask questions, find information, report on specific problems or concerns and even connect in chatrooms to share innovations and solutions to challenges. The information gathered can be used to support network programmes as well as inform advocacy and decision-making, ensuring that these centre lived experiences of people living with HIV.
What are we doing?
We are leading the project with support from a range of global HIV organisations on the steering committee. The project was designed in collaboration with UNYPA in Uganda and NEPHWAN in Nigeria, then piloted in both countries and improved based on their feedback. Additional networks now using Voice+ include NAP+ in Ghana, Y+ Global Kenya and ZY+ in Zimbabwe.
